My 5.5 year old loves this watch and finds it easy to read the hour numbers and recognize the difference in hands' lengths. After a few days (his first ever watch) he didn't complain about the watch strap and now, a month in, he wears it all day every day (he even wants to wear it in bed) - so it must be comfy! Being waterproof is a real bonus as he never needs to take it off (which would likely result in it being lost).
The only down-side of this watch so far is how easily the outer-ring with minute labels moves around, so has to be reset every time he wants to use it - although it does give him something to play with! The box it came with is also good quality and is re-purposed as a little-bits-of-Lego-left-on-the-floor container.
I really like that it doesn't have too much written on the face; fewer distractions than some of the other learn-to-read-the-time watches. The strap itself can go quite long - he's on the 3rd of many holes and it also fits my wrist.
